Put this one on your reading list. A friend recommended it to me (and let me borrow his copy) and it's probably the most thought-provoking thing I'll read this year. And I read a lot. It's written by William P. Young, and I assume you can get it wherever. I'm not finished, and there's a lot in it I haven't had time to figure out what I think about, and a lot I need to chew on.

In The Shack The main character Mack's daughter is abducted during a family vacation, and brutally murdered in an abandoned hut in the middle of nowhere. Some years later Mack finds a note in his mailbox inviting him to spend a weekend at the place of his nightmares...

He suspects the note might be from God...

I have to go to bed so I can wake up and read tomorrow. If you get it, let us know what you think!

Any other good reads going out there?

Yes, this is quite the thought-provoking book. And unlike many of the books from other Christian authors, it doesn't give a false portrayal of reality. I've read it once, but will need to read it again soon!

Oh, Missy...you're too funny! I'm not really in any hurry.

I would love the chance to sit down and dialogue with you sometime soon about it...how about that?

Oh - and you can't be a thief of what's given freely to you.

Well, I think the person who borrowed my copy wrote all over it. So Jo, maybe she could send you the new copy she promised to get me .

A friend of mine just wrote me this, regarding The Shack:

"I am not sure I can even explain the emotional experience I had reading this today. I had no idea this book would effect me this way. It is like someone came in my dark room where I had managed to get around in for years in the dark and turned the lights on. As I look around the room I don't like what I see. I sincerely felt that I sat next to God today. I felt He was right beside me, making sure I comprehended every word. He took the words and somehow weaved my own personal experience into every page to make sure I understood clearly what He was saying."

Did you hear Dr. Dykes mention it the other day? That was pretty cool.

Sometimes I wake up and call Him Papa. I love that name for Him.

I personally liked the bulletin today with Dr. Dykes on the Harley! He mentioned the book again in the letter to the Church. I can't wait till he gets finished reading it, so we can hear his comments about it.

Ok I feel like I am missing out. Someone call my husband and give him the idea to buy the book for me and surprise me with it. I could do it myself it just gives him something to buy me that he knows I would want.
